Welcome to Technique Tuesday! I hope your Monday proved to be as you envisioned and that your Tuesday will be even better!
For today's Technique Tuesday post, we focus on adding colour to your projects using Stampin' Up's Stampin' Write markers.
The markers are available in the four Stampin' Up colour families in addition to a Neutral selection (4 markers). They can be purchased individually, in sets per colour family (12 markers per set) or as an entire collection (48 markers and nifty storage case). These are odorless, water-based dye ink dual tipped markers. They coordinate with the Stampin' Up card stock, ink pad and accessories making it really easy to create visually-pleasing projects. The markers are found on pages 152-155 of Stampin' Up's Spring-Summer Idea Book & Catalogue.
Technique:
Sample of Techniques card (on the right) and finished card (left) created during recent Colours Galore Techniques class using Just Buzzin' By stamp set.
To achieve a soft, watercolour effect, outline your image with a Stampin'Write marker and then use a blender pen, Aqua Painter or water-dampened watercolour brush to pull and blend the marker colours into the area you desire.
You can custom-colour images by colouring directly on the stamp. Use the flexible brush tip on its side to shade and blend coulours right on the rubber. The fine point lets you easily colour small areas of the stamp. You can also omit parts of the design by colouring only those features you want to stamp.
Contact me if you have questions or would like to order Stampin' Up supplies. It will be my pleasure to give you a hand. For my latest course schedule, click here or on the Classes/Cours link at the top of the page (under the banner).
Have a colourful Tuesday! Stop by tomorrow for Scrappin' Wednesday!
