On to today’s project: a beautiful trifold Christmas card! It is so easy to make, and I guarantee you that those on your Christmas card list are sure to react with glee when they receive this beautiful hand-made card from you. Take a look:
Supplies: Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit, Paper trimmer, Scoring Tool, Bone Folder, 2-sided adhesive (Snail)
Let’s get started:
Cut one piece of card stock 5 ½" X 11 ½". Score it at 2", 4", 8" and 10".
Along the long edge, measure in 1 ½". Cut a slit between the 2" and 10" score lines. Repeat this cut on the other long side. Fold card and use a bone folder for crisp folds.
Using the card base as a template, trace the section with the "U" shaped fold onto patterned paper. Cut two of this shape. Trim 1/16" from all sides of the patterned paper. Adhere to card. (Note: Unless you are really brave, I do not recommend using a striped pattern for this portion of the project.)
The two red sections are 3 ¾" x 1 1/8". Cut two. For the sample I used one of the border stickers from the "Kit". It makes this project quick and easy!
For the three center sections cut two 2 ¼" x 1 ¾" pieces of textured Old Olive card stock. Cut the center section at 3 ¾" x 2 ¾". (This card stock is included in the "Kit"). Adhere these three pieces to your card, using double-sided Snail adhesive.
Finally, embellish the card as desired using stickers from the "Kit", and you are done!
Using the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit makes this impressive card easy. Simply choose, from the kit, the card stock, coordinated patterned paper and die cut stickers you like and you are done. Did you notice there is no stamping on this project! With just one Simply Scrapppin’ Kit, you can make several cards using different colour combinations. Have fun with this. Do not hesitate to call or email me with your questions or to place your order for your Simply Scrappin’ kit!
I do have many other holiday projects up my sleeve, and I am sure you won’t want to miss a single one. So be sure to register for my mailing list, if you haven’t already done so!

Hi everyone and happy Friday! I just came across this article by Kathleene S. Baker, which talks about how memories are made. Memories don't have to be made of huge spectacular events; often the little things in life, when remembered, make us smile! The same can be said for scrapbooking. There is a myth that scrapbooking in a lot of work, requires a lot of supplies and takes a lot of time. Well I think it's time to bust that myth! I challenge you to scrapbook a memory today. Do it simply. With a picture and a few words, create a page that will fill you with warmth when you next take a look at it in your album! Have a great day scrapbooking your memories!
And now for the article I promised. Take a look:
"One can't predict when or where they will come from; those memories that stay with us a lifetime, and never fail to bring us warm fuzzy feelings.
My husband had just finished loading his car; made one lap back through the house and then into the kitchen. "I guess filling my thermos is all I have left to do, and then I'm off." Down the drain went the hot water that had been warming his thermos. With a very nostalgic look on his face he softly said, "When I filled this with water earlier, I thought of your mom. In fact, anytime I fill my thermos I think of her."
"Oh honey, that's so sweet. I know she's watching and listening right now with a big smile on her face," I responded as tears began to brim my eyelids.
"You know, I never fill my thermos that I don't think of her, and I always smile too." The tone in his voice was so tender as he spoke of my mother who is no longer with us.
Years ago we had been visiting my parents, and the morning we were leaving mother watched as Jerry began to fill his thermos. Being the "coffee drinker" in the family, he's always placed himself in charge of thermos duties. Mom then casually offered up a tidbit of advice. "Jerry, if you would fill your thermos with hot water and let it sit a while, your coffee would stay hot longer on your drive." The look on his face was priceless as her simple suggestion sunk in. Well of course it would! It only makes all the sense in the world! Who wouldn't know that? He dumped the small amount of coffee already in the thermos, and ran the tap until it was at its hottest; then refilled with piping hot water. After pouring himself a fresh cup of coffee, he sat down to enjoy a few more minutes with mom, and to discuss this unique new idea.
Words of wisdom from a loving mother-in-law made an impact that will never be forgotten. When spoken that morning, Jerry didn't realize he would always hear those words ringing in his ears, or that they would bring a smile to his face time and time again. And Mother would never have dreamed her words would be a treasured and everlasting memory in the heart of her son-in-law.
The "fondest, lasting memories" don't necessarily come from "major moments" in life...the making of a memory simply happens.
